Double Trouble; Senior Boys Michael & Ryan

I got a referral from a distant relative of mine to do senior portraits for a friend she's known for several years. I offered them a discount because I had not yet done any senior portraits for boys (and was kinda terrified-- eeeek!).

After I had booked Michael, his mother asked me if I would consider shooting his friend, Ryan at the same time. Why not? Double the portfolio building! I offered both clients the same deal and we planned a double senior session at the Chelmsford Mills; a very unique location with lots of rich texture for backdrops.

As soon as I got there, I instantly recognized that senior boy photos were going to be much different than senior girl photos! Despite any nerves, I ended up quite enjoying myself and I learned a couple of valuable things: 1) Boys do NOT bend like girls and 2) I need to keep a stool in my car so that they are not always looking down at me!.

Here are some of my favorite captures:

Rochelle & Danny; Lynnfield, MA {Kara Baker Wedding Photographer}

I have known Rochelle since elementary school. My earliest memories of her were of her wearing stretchy jeans (pajama jeans, anyone?) and playing basketball better than most of the boys in our class.

Although we went to the same schools, we kind of lost touch and hung out with different crowds, but in HS, a common bond reunited us as friends once more.

After high school, we lost touch again, but through the magic of Facebook, were able to keep up with one another's lives. I was HONORED that she asked me to photograph her wedding. Originally, I had turned her down because I had already booked a wedding just the day before hers. I tried to help find her a photographer with my style, in my price range, and it was much harder than I thought. Finally (with a push from my husband), I gave in... and I could NOT be happier that I did.

Danny is the perfect counterpart for Rochelle. Their love is so evident. He honestly didn't even care when she shoved cake all over his face after he had just sweetly fed her. That's love.

It was a truly beautiful wedding filled with beautiful people. Rochelle's aunt was just the epitome of support and love.

I wish the Rochelle & Danny (& little Danny too) all the happiness in the world!

Rochelle & Danny met at Sprint (where they both work) so there was certainly a phone theme throughout their day-- even their cake toppers were holding cell phones!

Seana & Bobby - Nahant, MA {Kara Baker, Wedding Photographer}

Hurricane Irene was supposed to be headed our way on Sunday. It looked like it was going to remain clear for Seana & Bobby's outdoor ceremony, but hours before the ceremony was to even begin, the skies opened up. Plans were changed last minute and although the bride was a little disappointed, I overheard her on the phone with the venue saying "I just want to get married." She didn't care if it was indoors, or on the moon- she was in love and just wanted to be married to one of the sweetest groom's I've met (no wonder!).

Here are a few of my favorites from the day:

The bride tossed her bouquet right into the light fixture!
