Baby B

I can't say it enough; I truly appreciate all of my clients. This stands true even more so for those that have been with me from the beginning; like this beautiful family. This was my fourth time photographing this family and this time it was to photograph (and celebrate) their newest addition; baby B.

Baby B was a mere four days old when I went to the C's home to photograph him. I thought for sure I would have this session in the bag! After all, what do four day-old babies do? Sleep! Well, that's what most do, haha. This little baby didn't love sleeping for me so much... well, unless he was swaddled. I take what I can get! Here are some of my favorites from our session!

A Windy Day in Lynn- 2 Year Old Session

M (who I have been photographing since he was 6 months old) is about to turn two! I just recently posted about how I love watching my clients grow; it's so exciting. I watch bellies turn into babies, which turn into one-year olds, and now two-year olds! I get to watch families grow and multiply. Little M is just a reminder why I do what I do. I feel beyond blessed that families allow me to come in and capture the biggest milestones in their lives.

It was a windy day at Red Rock Park in Lynn, MA this past Monday. It was high tide so we weren't able to get too many shots with the ocean-- next time! As with most of my child portrait sessions, the child(ren) dictate when the session is up and M timed this one at just under an hour-- quite quick! BUT we got what we needed. Here are a few of my favorites:

The H Family {Kara Baker, Woburn, MA Family Photographer}

It's always exciting to me when I have an old classmate inquire about booking a session with me. It's fun to catch-up. Sure, there's Facebook, but meeting face to face after so many years (Oh My- 10 years!) is just more personal than Facebook.

What a sweet family too! Their little girl is just the essence of beauty; just gorgeous!

Thank you, H family, for allowing me to capture some moments for you!

Baby M- (Almost) 6 Months! {Kara Baker, Boston Area Child Photographer}

I was thrilled when I got this baby in front of my camera! Not much else is better in life than an adorable (and maybe a little chunky) baby! We did most of our session inside to stay out of the 98* weather (yes, even at 7pm in the evening!). Although I love my natural light, we got some great images with my faux-studio set-up!

Old Friends & A Beautiful Location Make Beautiful Photographs!

Last Saturday, I got the chance to photograph one of my favorite families. (Dad (who I've known for 12 years (WOW! How did I get to be so old?) got my husband his job and their little boy has not only the most adorable personality, but eyes that photograph like a DREAM! and Mom has gotten me several referrals so, yes, I'll say it, they're one of my favorites!)

Mom thought Lynch Park in Beverly would be the perfect place and she was SO right! Back when I was interning for one of Massachusetts most serious wedding planners, I actually assisted on a wedding in Lynch Park. It was gorgeous then (and a PERFECT place to say "I Do") and it was gorgeous now! We had so much fun... even when the skies opened up and POURED on us about an hour into our session (and I do mean POURED!).

Nevertheless, we got some great pics! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy :)

Worcester, MA One Year Old Portraits {Kara Baker Portrait Photographer}

So other than shooting at Laguna Beach, Green Hill Park in Worcester might have been my favorite place to shoot. There is never-ending gorgeousness! The backdrops are stunning and the landscaping is so well kept. I only wish it was a bit closer to home.

We had quite a windy and chilly day, but we made it work. Little R had a blast getting into whatever he could-- and I love that is Mama let him! Not only did it make for some great photographs, but I love when parents aren't afraid to let their kids get a little dirty...or a little wet. It's fun and, hey, they're learning!

Family Session; West Boylston, MA

The rain has stopped just briefly enough this May for me to photograph my clients... and then it starts again. But that's OK with me. Rain dates just make me crazy so I am glad I haven't had to make one yet! Thank you, Mother Nature!

This past weekend, I ventured out to West Boylston, MA. It's actually the second time I've been there (2 different clients). Small world. West Boylston is a town in Massachusetts that I've never even heard of until last year.

I'd met this family briefly while doing my Christmas Mini Sessions last November, but this gave us more time (and more space) to play around with. Here are my favorites from the session in their beautiful yard and home:
